I’ve always loved the subtle beauty of Carolina Herrera’s dresses. When I first moved to NYC I lived on the upper east side before swapping up and moving the Brooklyn. A Carolina Herrera boutique was on route to the train and I used to regularly be stopped mid commute by a particularly lovely piece.
Here she is photographed as a young designer by Mapplethorp, and Tank Magazine ran a really nice interview with her. I admire that her personality is so reflected in her refined and timeless designs. It’s always nice to imagine we can make a mark on the world and that are mark might be so uniquely our own.
